Under the direction of artistic director, Melanie Moore, the Chorale preformed a wide variety of songs with a range of musical styles including unique arrangements of "What Child is This", "Go Tell it on the Mountain," "Jingle Bells" and many more. You’ll hear a little something from Bing Crosby, Pentatonix, Elf the Musical, and the Macy’s Christmas Parade.
Our soloist, baritone Wes Moore, performed an arrangement of "Sweet Little Jesus Boy" that was written just for him. It's a Chorale tradition!
A note from the Artistic Director . . .
Merry Christmas! Hanukkah Sameach! Feliz Navidad! Joyeux Noël! Frohe Weihnachten! Happy Kwanzaa! Bon Natale! Happy Holidays!
Whatever your chosen means of expression, we hope you came away from our time together having experienced a wide gamut of emotions stirred by the Universal Language—music.
The music of The Contemporary Chorale is as unique and diverse as our members. Traditional choral anthems, Broadway, updated arrangements of choral classics—we enjoy it all! Through the music selected, you will see the true heart and soul of the fine people that make up The Contemporary Chorale: serious, spiritual, fun-loving, dedicated, and last but certainly not least, great big hams! We hope our favorites become your favorites, too.
Wes Moore once again joined us as a featured artist. Wes was the first Guest Artist six years ago, and I’m always happy to have an excuse to have him sing with us. “Sweet Little Jesus Boy” was arranged especially for him, and it has since become a Chorale tradition, with each of our Guest Artists performing it with us. Thank you, Wes, for always being willing to share your talents with us.
Eric Czechowski, violinist, also joined us as a featured artist. Eric has been our resident bass player for the past ten years or so, and occasionally we have the opportunity to showcase more of his many musical gifts. We sure you were as impressed by his beautiful, musical playing as we were.
In this, our 62nd season, The Contemporary Chorale is stronger than ever, and we are honored you chose to spend this time with us.
Merry Christmas,
Melanie Moore Artistic Director
